Woman Found In Reds Pitcher's Hotel Room Charged
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The woman who claimed she was tied up and robbed in a Cincinnati Reds pitcher's hotel room at the Omni William Penn is now facing charges.
Claudia Manrique, 26, of Silver Spring, Md., is charged with filing false police reports.
Authorities mailed a summons to Manrique and now she has to return to Pittsburgh to face the charges.
She told police a man entered the room of Reds player Aroldis Chapman last month, claiming to be a hotel maintenance man, then tied her up and stole thousands of dollars' worth of items.
But sources told KDKA-TV Manrique is a stripper and escort and that the robber was trying to collect on a drug debt.
