PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Jeans are a staple in most people’s wardrobe, but if you have a hard time finding the right fit for you, you’re not alone.

Trying to find the perfect pair of jeans can be really frustrating, but a new, high-tech fitting room is helping to make that a lot easier and it’s completely free.

“It’d take me a couple hours to go to different stores to find what I like,” Susan Fancsali said.

“Yea, I have a curvier shape, so it’s kind of hard finding jeans and stuff like that,” Tanisha Long said.

“I wanted to find out what my size was because every time I try on jeans, they’re a different size at different stores,” Nan Kurpely said.

A new, high-tech fitting room called “Me-Ality” is here to help. At no cost, it takes your exact measurements with your clothes on.

All you have to do is stand still for 10 seconds with your fingertips to your sides to allow room to measure.

Physically, you will not feel anything as radio waves are measuring your body.

“It hits 200,000 points on [your] body, reads on moisture on body, work on back end with retailers for sizing,” Shema Krinsky from the Mall at Robinson said.

The computer matches your measurements with jeans from the stores at the mall. It prints out your shopping guide with the name of the store, the exact style of jeans and the exact size to flatter and fit your body.

Susan tried it out to see if the suggestions really are a good fit.

She had 20 matches on her list and started at Buckle.

Susan’s jeans fit great, and said that based on her list, she’d try on jeans at stores she’d never been to before.

It’s safe for kids too, so it’ll be great to cut down the time when moms and dads are taking their children back-to-school shopping.

Me-Ality is at the Mall at Robinson, the Westmoreland Mall and the Monroeville Mall.

They’re hoping to offer recommendations on more than just jeans in the near future.
