According to state police, the victim, who has been identified as 23-year-old Cori Amanato of West Newton, was standing outside of a vehicle stopped in the northbound lanes of the roadway when a 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo pulled up beside them.

Investigators say a third vehicle then came around a blind right curve and was unable to stop. That vehicle then hit one of the stopped vehicles head on “and in the process also struck the pedestrian standing between the stopped vehicles.”
