Burgettstown Vandal Leads Police To Buried Loot

BURGETTSTOWN (KDKA) -- Two of three suspects accused of trashing Burgettstown High School were in court.

And one of them led police to where they buried some of the loot.

Ronald Boyer, 19, took Smith Township police to where some of the stolen items were hidden.

Police uncovered class rings buried behind the classroom.

"He gave us a taped confession in the beginning of the investigation so we pretty much have him on that," Smith Township Police Officer Larry Bonazza said.

Boyer spoke to police, but didn't have much to say to KDKA-TV.

"I was told I don't have to talk so could you please quit asking me questions," he said.

Mark Shriver, also 19, says he is wrongly accused.

"I don't know what's going on – I'm innocent," he said. "They're putting something on me that I didn't do."

Both Boyer and Shriver attended Burgettstown High School.

The superintendent says the suspects caused more than $100,000 in damages.

The third suspect is a juvenile who is under house arrest. He will be in court next week.
