Pirates Shortstop Clint Barmes Talks Grand Slam

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- Pirates Shortstop Clint Barmes joined Seibel, Starkey and Miller on Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN in Pittsburgh to talk about his huge game on Sunday in the series finale against the San Diego Padres, and what it had felt like being a part of this team the way things have gone lately.

Barmes admitted the errors he made in the field on Sunday game him some added incentive to gain back a couple of the runs he cost the team, and the grand slam he hit was a product of those emotions.

There was some booing of Barmes and the team earlier in the game when they made their pair of errors in the game, and Clint said he did feel like it was directed at him, but it was deserved and he's just glad he was able to make up for them.

Barmes is one of the few members of this years Pirates with playoff experience, and he told us what he can offer his teammates as they get closer and closer to achieving their goal of making the postseason.

We wrapped things up with Clint discussing some of his teammates and the guys that have really stepped their games up this year including Neil Walker.
