Tarentum House Fire Under Investigation

TARENTUM (KDKA) - A man had to rush out of his home in Tarentum early Monday morning after it caught fire.

According to officials, the fire started around 12:45 a.m. along West 8th Avenue.

The fire chief said it started on the first floor and spread up to the third floor.

The man living in the home got out, but he ran back in several times to try to rescue his cats.

"The gentleman did get out of the house. He did make two, three attempts to go back in for his cats," Tarentum Fire Department Chief John Hudec said.

The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire at this time.
