2 Injured In Lower Burrell Crash

LOWER BURRELL (KDKA) – Two people were injured when their car struck a utility pole in Westmoreland County early Saturday morning.

According to police, the accident happened near the intersection of Edgecliff and Leechburg Roads in Lower Burrell around 3:15 a.m.

Two men were injured after being ejected from the vehicle in the crash. Both were flown to local hospitals, but there is no word on their conditions at this time.

Their identities have not been released, but police said one is from Plum Borough and the other is from New Kensington.

As a result of the crash, power lines came down and caused a fire at the nearby Dutch Girl Cleaners. The extent of the damage caused to the business is also unknown.

Police believe speed was a factor and are also investigating what role, if any, alcohol may have played.
