Neighbors React To Charges Filed In Suspicious Baby Death

INDIANA COUNTY (KDKA) --- State police and the Indiana County District Attorney have a press conference scheduled for this afternoon in connection with an arrest made in the March death of a Saltsburg toddler.

Sixteen-month-old Colby Jozefczyk died at Latrobe Hospital after being found unresponsive and with bruises on his face and arms in a Hemlock Way apartment in Saltsburg.

Police say the mother's 29-year-old boyfriend, Shawn Anderson-Holmes, was charged Wednesday with criminal homicide in Colby's death.

KDKA's Ralph Iannotti reports:

Saltsburg neighbors had mixed reactions to the arrest.

Connie Fox told KDKA-TV that she was not surprised because she knew it would take a while, adding "I knew his [Colby's] mother had nothing to do with it."

Another neighbor, Crystal Ashbaugh, said she was glad that something finally happened now, but it's been a long time since she heard anything about the case.

Colby's mother, Kayla Lyons, was evicted from her home by the Indiana County Housing Authority shortly after the boy's death.

Kayla's daughter has been placed in the custody of a relative.

KDKA's Ross Guidotti reports:
