NYC 9/11 Survivor Tells Inspirational Story

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) - Lauren Manning was waiting for an elevator in the lobby of the World Trade Center when one of the planes hit the building.

The resulting explosion caused fire to shoot down the elevator shaft, blowing the elevator doors out in front of her and engulfing her in flames.

Somehow, she got out of the building while on fire and across the street where she put herself out. She then got someone to get her away from the buildings because she realized they were going to collapse.

She was burned over the majority of her body- and this was just the beginning of her inspirational story.

KDKA-AM's Larry and John talk to Lauren about her 9/11 story, how she survived and persevered, and the human spirit that kept her going.

Lauren Manning's book is called "Unmeasured Strength" and is available anywhere books are sold.
