PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) — Penn State Football Head Coach Bill O’Brien joined The Fan Morning Show on Friday to talk about the team’s recent success, which has come amidst a very difficult time for the program.

Since O’Brien took over as head coach, the team is 4-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play, and carries a four-game winning streak heading into an off week. The Nittany Lions face Big Ten rival Iowa on the 20th.

When asked what has been the key to the teams early success, O’Brien creditied his seniors.

“The seniors on this team have been great leaders, buying into workouts, the system and keeping the team focused,” he explained.

Coach O’Brien is happy with the student and community support in his efforts to get the football program back on track.

“They have been great,” he said. “The student section is filled every game. They helped us win the Northwestern game- they were so loud it helped us win.”
