4-Year-Old Boy Found Wandering Alone In Homewood

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A 4-year-old boy is back home with his father after he was found wandering by himself in Homewood.

Police say Christopher Lewis was found walking down Hermitage Street around 10:45 p.m. Saturday night.

He was found by three women who were driving down the street.

The women stopped to ask him where he was going and Lewis said he didn't know. After that, the women took him inside the car and drove around trying to find his house, but when they couldn't find it, took him to Zone 5 police officers.

"I applaud those women for coming to get him," Hezekiah Moore of Homewood said. "I would come and get him too and treat him as if he were my own."

Police eventually found out Lewis' address and that he lives with his father in the Hill District, who has primary custody of the boy.

He was staying with his mother in Homewood for a weekend visit when he somehow got out of the house.

It's still unclear how Lewis got out on his own, but police say his mother will face charges.
