Exciting Promotions To Start The Pens Season

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) -  Finally, our long national nightmare is over.

The hockey lockout is officially over and play resumes for the Pens this Saturday when they take on the Philadelphia Flyers.

Before regulation play resumes, the Pens have some special events of which you can be a part.

KDKA-AM's Larry and John talk to Penguins CEO David Moorehouse about how practice this week at Consol Energy Center is open to the public, and on Wednesday, the team will have a team scrimmage that will be open to the public as well.

"Coach Byslma wants to simulate game conditions, including the time," Moorehouse said. "It will have whistle, referees, overtime and even a shootout, no matter what the score it."

Mooreshouse also talks about some exciting promotions, the build up to a hyphenated season and what he thinks the team will do this year. As he says, everyone is ready for this season from the fans, the players, and management.

"It's been a long time coming, everyone is very, very excited and we're ready to move forward and start the season," he said.
