2 In Hospital After Parkway Shooting

WEST END (KDKA)- Police found an SUV early Friday morning, with multiple bullet holes along West Carson Street near the West End Bridge.

There were no victims inside the SUV, but police did notice a significant amount of blood.

Police later identified the two victims as a 32-year-old woman and 29-year-old man driving in a Chevy Tahoe.

After the shooting, a man and a pregnant woman reportedly showed up at UPMC Magee-Women's Hospital.

The victims were transferred to UPMC Presbyterian.

Sources say PennDOT crews and police were called to the scene after debris was found along the Parkway.

Police say the man and woman were driving west on the Parkway, when a white SUV pulled up next to them and fired shots. The shooter fled the scene and has yet to be found.

It is unclear if the victims knew the shooter.

Police say after being shot, the victims called a friend for a ride to the hospital and left the car. The SUV that was found was beat up and riddled with bullets.

Reportedly the pregnant woman was shot in the back and the man was shot in the hand, but those injuries have yet to be confirmed.

State police are now handling the investigation.
