Group Fighting To Save The Wheelbarrow Monopoly Piece

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) -- Vice President of Marketing and Product Development for Ames True Temper Eric Bernstein joins KDKA Radio's Johnna Pro to discuss the "Save The Wheelbarrow" campaign.

According to the Save the Wheelbarrow Facebook Page, Hasbro recently announced it will be discontinuing one of its Monopoly game pieces in order to make room for a more "modern" piece. The piece in most danger of being wiped from existence is none other than the wheelbarrow!

The wheelbarrow dates back to ancient Greece and is also a symbol of one of the most important inventions of all time, the wheel.

They decided to let game fans vote on the Monopoly Facebook page to determine which new token would be added and which one would retire. Voting ends Tuesday, Feb. 5.

The Ames True Temper plant proudly calls itself the wheelbarrow capital of the world.

Listen to Johnna Pro every Saturday night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on NewsRadio 1020 KDKA.
