Corbett Proposes New Transit Fees
PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) - Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett has proposed lifting the wholesale level cap on gasoline taxes.
His plan is to raise new money for roads, bridges and other transportation in the city.
Corbett adds to the proposal to lengthen vehicle registration fee renewals to a two-year cycle and drivers license renewals to a six-year cycle.
He believes that the Port Authority has been improperly funded since 1997 and the region is missing out on money it could be raising.
Many goods and services travel in and out of our area, that's a lot of economic funding we aren't taking advantage of. Mike Pintek talks about this issue and others included in Corbett's proposal.
