Missing Teen Found In Woods After Running Away From Local School

ROBINSON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A 13-year-old boy from the Mars Area School District was found safe late Thursday night after a more than three-hour search.

The boy, identified as Quay Shick, ran off into the woods after winning a wrestling match at Montour High School.

Police said he had a dispute with his mother and that's what prompted his running away.

Shick has special needs and was on medication, but he failed to take that medication today because of the wrestling competition.

Robinson Police Chief Dale Vietmeier told KDKA-TV News that the boy was dehydrated and cold when he was found, but he appeared to be otherwise okay.

Vietmeier said the teen was found deep in the woods not from the high school.

His family and police were concerned because Shick was unfamiliar with the area, and was only wearing a T-shirt and wrestling shorts when he vanished.
