Police: Facebook Post Leads To Assault With Furby

MOON TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – Police say a Moon Township woman decided to use toys as weapons, and she was arrested for assault.

A police report says 27-year-old Ashley Trimmer got into an argument with her boyfriend William Ley early Wednesday morning.

Police say Trimmer was upset over a Facebook post that Ley had made.

That's when police say Trimmer threw a Furby at Ley's head while he was sitting on the couch. He was injured by the toy, suffering a cut to the right side of his face.

Ley told police that Trimmer also hit him in the head with a Sony PlayStation controller on the left side of his face.

When officers responded they found Ley bleeding from his face, with a red mark and bump on the head.

Trimmer has been charged with assault, and released on $2,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday.
