Sources: Mayor's Mother Facing 'Serious Health Crisis'

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - New questions are starting to be raised about Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl after he's missed several public and political events over the past few days.

Sources have told KDKA Investigator Marty Griffin that the mayor's mother is facing a serious health crisis, which is why Ravenstahl has been absent recently.

According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, he was a no-show at a candidates' night at Perry Traditional Academy Wednesday night.

Ravenstahl's close friend, Kevin Quigley, spoke in his place and offered an intriguing apology.

Quigley said within the next couple of days, Ravenstahl will hold a news conference to discuss some issues.

This led to speculation that he had been absent due to the ongoing investigation into the Pittsburgh Police Department, which resulted in Chief Nate Harper being forced to resign last week.
