Bob Errey Not Sure If Sidney Crosby Will Be Ready For Playoff Opener

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Penguins Captain Sidney Crosby made his return to practice with his teammates earlier today, but count ROOT Sports Analyst Bob Errey among those who don't believe he'll be ready for the first game of the playoffs.

Errey joined Starkey, Miller and Mueller to talk about Crosby's eventual return and said that Crosby is coming back earlier than projected from his broken jaw.

"I think the Penguins are going to give Sidney Crosby as much time as they can here to get his jaw healed.  To me, that's the main thing.  It's been four weeks barely, four weeks tomorrow, I don't know if bones can heal that quickly when they're all plated up like that.  It might take six weeks, so we might be two weeks away."

With the playoffs right around the corner and the Penguins still figuring out their line combinations, Errey told us how he could see things shaking out.

"They're going to play the lineup they thinks going to give them the best opportunity to win," Errey says.  "You might see Jokinen when Crosby gets back, on paper be on the fourth line, but you can insert him in different roles, different situations. Even when Sid comes back, you might see his minutes reduced, he'd be more of a power play specialist or just a spot player."

Errey also addressed in game one of the playoffs what he could see the Penguins doing with their two power play units now that they have so much talent.
