Woman Hides From Police On Roof After Smuggling Drugs Into Court

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A Coraopolis woman was arrest Friday after police found her hiding on a roof.

Police say they were looking for 24-year-old Ashley Harper after she was found with 30 bags of stamped heroin while entering family court.

Building guards discovered the drugs as she went through a metal detector.

Harper was going to the courthouse for a court-ordered drug screening.

Police later went to a house in the 1300-block of Vance Avenue, which was believed to be Harper's new address.

When they searched the house, police eventually found Harper on the second floor roof in an effort to avoid arrest.

Harper is currently in the Allegheny County Jail.
