Police Testing Unknown White Substance Found In Local Classroom

WILKINSBURG (KDKA) -- A white substance found in a fourth grade classroom desk at Turner Elementary School in Wilkinsburg has parents concerned, the district looking for answers and the police testing for drugs.

The substance was found Tuesday afternoon.

The following is part of a letter sent to parents by the principal:
"This letter is to inform you that while students were cleaning out their desks, a substance was discovered in the desk of a former student.

"The substance was confiscated, the local police were notified and no children consumed it or have been injured by it."

Superintendent Archie Perrin says the substance is being tested by authorities.
