Woman's Dog Stolen From Locked Car

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A woman stopped for a quick cup of coffee, but that was enough time for someone to steal her year-old puppy from her car.

Sasha, a Chihuahua-terrier mix, is missing. Pointing to a flyer pinned to a utility pole, Dominique Bellisario explains that she dearly wants Sasha back.

"Someone took my dog," says Dominique. "She's everything, my baby."

Dominique, 22, of Point Breeze, parked her car on busy Butler Street before noon, meeting her aunt, Adriana Bellisario, at La Gourmandine.

"We had coffee. We were there like max 15 minutes," said Adriana.

As Dominique and Adriana were walking out the door, they spotted something on the sidewalk.

It was Sasha's heart-shaped tag attached to her collar and leash.

Dominique says a witness saw more.

"She said she saw a man carrying a dog, and she saw the man drop the leash and the collar right there where the bike is," she said.

Dominique's locked car parked just across from the French bakery was empty.

"All the windows were down, like this much, not big enough for her to get out of," said Dominique.

They made a quick trip to Copies On Carson on the South Side to have flyers of Sasha printed up. There is a reward.

There are really a lot of nice people in Lawrenceville who are trying to help find Sasha. Merchants and neighbors are passing the flyers around.

"We have a lot of customers that have dogs," says Lisanne Moreau, of La Gourmandine. "So they'll probably keep an eye out."

"We'll find her. I know we'll find her," Lisanne said.
