5 Arrested In Major Ellwood City Drug Bust

ELLWOOD CITY (KDKA) – An Ellwood City police officer and his K9 made the biggest drug bust ever in the history in the Lawrence County borough.

Mayor Anthony Court told KDKA's Brenda Waters: "Ellwood City is not the place to do illegal drugs."

Proof of that came when five people in a van were pulled over Wednesday morning just before 1:30 for a traffic violation.

That's when an Ellwood City police officer and his drug-sniffing dog found 789 bags of heroin worth $20,000 on the street.

The packs were hidden in the fender and encased in grease.

Police say the suspects, all from Detroit, were headed to a house on South Street where they planned to run their operation.

Two of the men, 33-year-old Terry Brown and 45-year-old Edward Terry, had an affiliation with the house. Also arrested, 24-year-old Donsha Crutcher and 35-year-old Erica Bennett.

All are being held in the Lawrence County Jail.

Another woman in the van was not arrested.
