2 Injured In Fight, Shooting Outside Washington Co. Bar

CANTON TWP. (KDKA) – The Cozy Corner Bar on Euclid Avenue in Canton Township, Washington County, is a place where the locals hang out. It's a spot where they feel comfortable, but that changed around 1 a.m. Thursday when a father and son became victims of gunfire.

"Victim No. 1, Akili Sutton, became involved in a verbal argument with a man outside the bar. He left, came back inside and grabbed his father, Robert Sutton, victim No. 2," State Police Detective Thomas Schuster said.

Schuster said when the Suttons were outside, Akili was struck from behind and knocked unconscious. He fell face first to the concrete, while his father went after the man who delivered the punch.

"While they were fighting, another individual pulled a gun out and shot Sutton numerous times. He fell to the ground and while Akili was lying on the ground, he shot him in the face and ran off from the scene," Schuster said.

Police are looking for 24-year-old Eric Johnson Jr. for assault and his step-brother, 20-year-old Tevin Heyman for attempted homicide.

Both are from the area and are known to police, who said they have a head start in this investigation.

"The whole thing was caught on video surveillance and we have people identifying both actors from the scene," Schuster said.

Both Suttons are in Pittsburgh hospitals, but there is no word on their condition.
