SUV Overturns After Colliding With Trolley In Dormont

DORMONT (KDKA) -- The driver of an SUV is being treated for injuries after his vehicle collided with a trolley Saturday afternoon in the South Hills.

The accident happened around 5 p.m. at the Red Line T tracks near Hillsdale Avenue in Dormont.

The impact of the collision caused the vehicle to roll over and catch fire.

The driver of the SUV suffered neck and back injuries.

Police say the man ignored the flashing red lights at the T crossing.

Port Authority officials say no one on the light rail trolley was injured. However, one man with a heart condition was reportedly checked out as a precaution.

According to the Port Authority, T traffic was re-routed from the Red Line to the Blue Line following the accident.
