PITTSBURGH (93.7 THE FAN)–Rumors have been swirling that former Pitt running back, Rushel Shell could be returning to the program. Shell left the Panthers, in hopes to transfer to UCLA. To outline the situation, the Fan Morning Show was joined by Chris Peak of Panther Lair on Monday.

Chris tells us that it is more than just a rumor.

“His desire, his goal is to come back to Pitt,” Peak said.

The biggest hang up is whether or not Pitt will want to have him back in the program. Chris tells us that the decision is one that head coach Paul Chryst will have to think about.

If Shell does return, Chryst could get catch some flak about allowing him to play.

“What kind of message does that send?” Peak said citing the culture change that Chryst has been trying to implement.

There are a finite amount of scholarships that a program can distribute. That could be a major issue as well, if Shell would take a scholarship from another athlete.
