PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A day after word leaked out that WPIAL all-time leading rusher Rushel Shell had decided not to follow through with his transfer to UCLA, KDKA-TV has learned Shell will not be welcomed back into the Pitt football program.

The news was first reported by our newspaper partner the Post-Gazette.

Those sources indicate the coaching staff at Pitt made the decision to move on when they released Shell from his scholarship during spring practices, and they will not change their mind.
