Kent Tekulve On Pirates Offense: 'They Need To Score More On A Day-To-Day Basis'

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - Monday morning, the Fan Morning Show recapped the weekend for the Pirates by inviting Former Pirates Closer, and current ROOT Sports Analyst, Kent Tekulve to the program.

The Pirates have lost two straight series, but we start by the positive note from Sunday's loss, being the return of A.J. Burnett. When asked about what he liked about the start, Teke said, "basically, I saw the same A.J. Burnett as before."

The Pirates offense has been a major concern at points in this season. The team tends to score in bunches, or come up empty.

"They need to score more on a day-to-day basis," Teke said, "as opposed to what you see now, with the all-or-nothing offense."

Teke tells us that the team will be able to break out of the offensive slump, because they have done it before. When the players approach the plate, the confidence needs to show, because they have proved that they can put up runs.
