PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – We all know the Pittsburgh Pirates haven’t made the playoffs in 20-years, and now a local band has put together a song for the fans who have stuck by the team.

“We’ve Been Waiting Twenty Years” is a new song released by Ben Valasek and the Growlers.

They’re a Pittsburgh based band out of the Kittanning and Ford City areas, and they play shows throughout the entire Pennsylvania region.

As the Pirates continued to win, and as avid Pirates fans, Ben said he wanted to write a song that everyone in the area could connect with.

“It’s a song that embraces the team, but is truly about the fans, and the years of suffering.”

They just released the song last week, and it’s already had thousands of listens.

The song was even played on country music station Y108, and is now available for download on iTunes.

The band also just released their latest CD titled “Time Waits For No One.”
