PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — If you watch TV at all, you’ve seen the ad.

It depicts a woodland stream with two words on the screen: “It Begins.”

Now we know that “it” is a brand new Field and Stream store in Cranberry Township.

Senior Brand Manager Shian-Li McGuire says the store has “shops within a shop. And the first one here is the tackle shop.”

She gave KDKA a tour of the 50,000 square feet of outdoor merchandise.

“Back here this is our fly fishing area,” she says, with a gesture. “So this is, I would say, more of a traditional fishing behind you, and then we go into some of our specialized fly fishing.”

Dick’s Sporting Goods bought the brand, which is separate from the magazine of the same name.

“Field and Stream is a brand that holds a very special place in the hearts and minds of outdoor enthusiasts,” the brand manger says. “And our goal with this store is really to build an experience that lives up to those expectations.”

There’s a wide assortment of camping gear. And for those who want to just sort of rough it, gigantic Yeti coolers range from from $229 to $1,299.

But what about that “It Begins” ad?

“We think it’s a tradition all of its own,” McGuire says, “and one that begins. It begins tomorrow.”

The grand opening is Friday.
