2 Arrested In Connection With Pierogies Plus Armed Robbery

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) –Police have two people in connection with the robbery of Pierogies Plus in McKees Rocks earlier this month.

McKees Rocks Police say 18-year-old Robert Burton III and 13-year-old from McKees Rocks were arrested after the popular Pierogi store was robbed at gunpoint Aug. 6.

Police say media coverage of the robbery and call-in tips helped them identify the two suspects.

However, police are still trying to identify a third suspect.

The three suspects allegedly entered the store before 11 p.m. and held a gun to an employee's head as they emptied the cash register.

Police say they got to the scene as the robbery was in progress, but the suspects were able to jump out a window and get away.

Burton is currently in the Allegheny County Jail on $100,000 bond. He is charged with robbery, theft, recklessly endangering another person, conspiracy, corruption of minors and gun charges.

The 13-year-old also faces similar charges, police say.
