Pitt Students Attempt To Break World Record

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - The University of Pittsburgh's class of 2017 attempted to set a new record for the largest animal image formed by humans.

Last year, thousands of incoming freshman honored Pittsburgh-native and Pitt alum Gene Kelly by re-creating his iconic "Singing in the Rain" scene.

More than 3,500 mortician school freshman were expected to participate in this year's attempt.

Their animal of choice is of course, a panther, which is the university's mascot.

The world record attempt was made Wednesday afternoon on the lawn of the Petersen Events Center.
