PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) – Beaver County is known for producing some of the greatest football players of all time.

Rob Pratte hosted Black and Gold Sunday live from Kuhn’s Market in Hopewell, where he discussed some of these players with Bob Barrickman of WBVP.

“Joe Namath was probably, if not the greatest football player, or greatest athlete, in Beaver County history,” said Barrickman.

Namath’s career is depicted in a new book titled “Rising Tide: Bear Byrant, Joe Namath, & Dixies Last Quarter.”

The book explores Namath’s ups and down as a star quarterback at the University of Alabama.
