Few Bare It All At 'GoTopless' Rally Downtown

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A handful of women and men walked from downtown Pittsburgh to Point State Park without their shirts Sunday afternoon.

The women were participating in the GoTopless Rally.

GoTopless.org is a group hoping to make it OK for women to walk around without a shirt the way men do.

Sunday is also the day before Women's Equality Day, which provided the perfect opportunity for the women to bare it all in a walk from the Wyndham Grand to Point State Park.

However, none of the women were ever completely exposed during the event. Two women wore only pasties, which is required on city property – and at Point State Park, a third woman stripped down to her bra.

A topless Judith Sherwood of Hamilton, N.J. said the event wasn't just about shock value.

"Maybe it is, but they're just breasts, they're natural," she said, "I don't know, if people are shocked by it, great, and shock is good sometimes, you don't want to live under a rock all the time."

Two bare-chested men were also at the event.

According to the group's website, Pittsburgh was one of more than 50 cities across the world that held the same event.
