Penguins Planning Show Of Support For Pirates

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Pirates showed their Pittsburgh pride this past spring, supporting the Penguins by wearing their jerseys.

KDKA caught up with Pens' coach Dan Bylsma in Richland Township, where he and other volunteers laid down flooring for a brand new dek hockey rink Thursday.

It's the third rink constructed by Project Power Play, sponsored by the Penguins Foundation and Highmark.

As for supporting the Pirates?

"We'll have something planned for the Pirates, as a group and as a team," Bylsma says.

"I know we're pretty excited about them. It's great, not only to see them still be at the top of the division, but now heading into the post-season," he added. "Lots of excitement and some of the guys have gone over for games and just said that it's such a different event down there. It's different even than maybe it was when we went a couple of years ago. And it's awesome that the Pirates are right there."

In the meantime, "Let's go Bucs!"
