Furry Tails: Searching For A Forever Home (9/7)

Are you looking to bring a pet into your home? Local animal shelters are a great place to find a furry companion. So, as part of Furry Tails, I'll be doing an ongoing feature on adoptable pets from local animal shelters once a week. If you have room in your heart and are looking to bring a lovable ball of fur into your home, maybe one of these guys is meant to be a part of your family!

Jake

If you're active and looking for an energetic pet to keep up, then Jake might just be the handsome boy for you and your family.

Jake, a 1½-year-old Chow-Labrador mix with sleek, black fur and an adorable face, is currently waiting for his forever family at the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society.

He is currently learning his manners through obedience classes. And the Humane Society staff says once Jake is adopted it would be best if he and his new family continue those classes to "learn together how best to increase his confidence level." Those costs are included in his adoption price.

According to the Humane Society, Jake would do best in "a home that is a little on the calmer side with teens and adults only."

You see, Jake gets a little nervous in new situations and meeting new people; but with some extra love, attention and care, Jake can be a loyal, affection and bouncy furry friend!

The Humane Society says he's made much improvement during his time at the shelter.

This pup loves to play and exercise, and will need lots of activity to keep him happy and content.

Also, if you are considering Jake and have another dog or dogs, the Humane Society says it would be a good idea to bring them in for a doggy meet and greet.
