Bridge Party Set To Kick Of Arrival Of Giant Duck

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The day many people have been waiting for is finally here: the arrival of the giant duck.

The 40-foot-tall, 35-foot-wide "rubber duck" hits the waters of the Allegheny River today.

It's part of the four-week-long Pittsburgh International Festival of Firsts.

To celebrate its arrival, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust is hosting a bridge party tonight at 5:30 p.m.

It'll be held on the Sixth Street Bridge with lots of festivities, including a DJ, food and art vendors and special guest appearances.

Around 2 p.m., the duck had already been mostly inflated and could be seen from Mt. Washington, on its way toward downtown.

Will you be going to see the duck?
