Parents Demand Answers After Principal Fired Without Explanation

WESTMORELAND COUNTY (KDKA) -- Parents of students at Greensburg Central Catholic High School are calling for answers about the firing of a well-liked principal.

Denise Myers was put on leave last month without explanation. She was let go this week, citing the findings of an independent audit.

A group of parents gathered Friday at a Greensburg restaurant to discuss their continued support of Myers.

They say the diocese has been vague with its accusations and they would like to hear specifics of the allegations.

They say as paying "customers" of the school, they deserve to have answers about what goes on.

Support for Myers has been extreme. Students held a prayer vigil for her last month.

The diocese says those who support Myers are basing their opinions are personal beliefs rather than facts.

Sister Mary Norbert will serve as the interim administrator at Greensburg Central Catholic.

The diocese says no decision has been made as to if or when this case could be turned over to law enforcement. The District Attorney's Office tells KDKA they have not yet been contacted.

Myers attorney did not return a call seeking comment.
