BRADDOCK (KDKA) — Several people, including police officers, were hospitalized Saturday evening after a fire broke out in Braddock.

Police officers ran into the burning home to rescue an elderly person trapped inside.

The fire broke out around 9 p.m. Saturday at the Maple Terrace apartments.

Three officers from Braddock and one from Rankin were treated for smoke inhalation.

The tenant was also taken to the hospital.

Those officers were first on scene and ran in before firefighters arrived.

Investigators say it started in the kitchen.

There’s no word on the conditions of the people treated.
