Pirates Extend Charlie Morton For 3 Years
PITTSBURGH (93.7 THE FAN) - Pirates pitcher Charlie Morton spoke with 93.7 The Fan's Colin Dunlap Wednesday night and the main topic of discussion was Morton's three-year, $21 million extension with the team.
While the process took a bit longer than Morton expected, he was happy with the outcome.
"I'm excited, I'm humbled and I'm honored and I'm just excited going forward to be a Pirate," Morton said.
Morton won't let the money change the way he gets ready to pitch or how he trains in the offseason.
"If anything I'm more motivated," he said.
The Pirates right hander will be expected to play a vital role in the rotation during the upcoming 2014 season.
