Aguilera Appears In PSAs Aiming To End World Hunger

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Millions of people around the world will go hungry this holiday season.

However, former Wexford resident, Christina Aguilera has become a voice for them and she's making an impact.

The Grammy winner says becoming a mother played a key role in her decision to get involved.

"When I look at my son I realize all the opportunities that he has around him. Every child deserves the chance to dream and to hope," she said.

Aguilera recently traveled to Rwanda as an ambassador against hunger for the United Nations World Food Programme.

"It's just so lovely to see them smile and their eyes light up and for them to be eager to get an education, and in the long term, try and provide for their family and break the cycle of going hungry," Aguilera said.

This is Aguilera's third trip with the World Food Programme.

She previously visited Guatemala and Haiti.

"Why not do all I can to give these children a voice of their own to be heard and to have the same opportunities everyone else should have," she said.

Aguilera also did a number of new PSAs for the "Let's End Hunger" campaign, including one where she asks for financial help for Haiti while standing behind Muhammad Ali
