Arrest Made In Fatal Brookline Hit & Run Pedestrian Crash

BROOKLINE (KDKA) –Police have made an arrest after a man was hit and killed by a vehicle in Brookline early Sunday morning.

According to police, the hit-and-run accident happened in the 2300-block of Pioneer Avenue shortly before 2:30 a.m.

Police say 25-year-old Michael Rafaloski of Beechview hit, and ultimately killed, 25-year-old Sean Conroy.

Conroy was transported to UPMC Mercy Hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 3 a.m.

Police say Rafaloski drove away after hitting Conroy, but evidence left at the scene indicated that the vehicle used in the accident was a blue truck or SUV with a broken bug shield.

After canvassing the area, police say they found Rafaloski's blue Ford Explorer parked in a driveway on Tropical Avenue, with the font end facing the house.

Rafaloski was arrested on multiple charges, including DUI and homicide by vehicle.

Officials say three other passengers were also in the car at the time of the accident.
