Report: Free Agent RB Maurice Jones-Drew To Visit Steelers

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - With no depth behind running back Le'Veon Bell, the Steelers are looking to add some talent behind him and they're looking at former Jacksonville Jaguar Maurice Jones-Drew to fill the void.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported the development with Jones-Drew on Twitter Wednesday morning.

The 29-year-old and once great Jones-Drew has struggled with injuries and a lack of talent around him the last two years.  He only played six games in 2012, but saw 86 carries for 414 yards and one touchdown.

This past season, he played in 15 games and saw 234 carries for 803 yards and five touchdowns.

The appeal to the Steelers of Jones-Drew could be the ability to catch the ball out of the back field on third down and work in short yardage to give Bell a breather at times.

Jones-Drew does have other visits scheduled as he looks to find the right fit, but there's a chance that could be Pittsburgh.
