Polanco Continues To Shine In AAA

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) -- Gregory Polanco continues to dominate minor league pitching, substantiating all the buzz about his game on the diamond.

Polanco, the Pirates top prospect, went 4-for-4 Saturday with a two-run home run and three RBI in AAA Indianapolis' 6-3 victory over Toledo.

While fans have been clamoring for the Pirates to recall the right-fielder, June is a more realistic timetable for Polanco's possible big league debut so the team can avoid Super Two contract status, similar to last season's recalling of pitcher Gerrit Cole.

"I like him," Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said of Polanco during Spring Training. "I like the way he goes about his work. I like the development, the platform he is on. He just continues to develop."

Entering Sunday's action, Polanco is hitting .500 (19-of-38) with two home runs, nine RBI and a 1.300 OPS.
