Retaining Wall Collapse Closes Part Of Riverview Avenue

BELLEVUE (KDKA) -- A collapsed retaining wall has closed down a section of Riverview Avenue in Bellevue.

According to an advisory from the borough, the road will be closed between Roosevelt and Division Avenues until further notice.

A large portion of the retaining wall collapse last Sunday and exposed a section of the street.

Officials with the borough have brought in experts to evaluate the condition and stability of the road.

Until that is done, the road will remain shut down to traffic. Then, officials will make a decision on possible lane changes.

"A lot of people will probably be inconvenienced," said Mary McGraw of Avalon.

Borough officials say residents will be allowed to park their vehicles in designated areas on the west side of the road.

Officials say no timeframe has been set for repairs.
