Ryan Shazier On LeBeau: Trying To Do Everything I Can To Learn From Him

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Less than a month since being drafted by the Steelers with their first-round draft pick, Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier joined Starkey and Mueller to talk about being thrust into a starting role already and what he's picking up from a legend like Dick LeBeau.

Shazier says the last couple of weeks have been "amazing" and that "just to be a part of the franchise and just be able to get out there on the field with the guys has been amazing."

Shazier also talked about the speed of the game from college to the NFL, adding that "a lot of guys are a lot faster."

When it comes to the impact Defensive Coordinator Dick LeBeau is having on the rookie, Shazier says he's learning a lot.

"It's amazing to talk to him, to pick his brain," Shazier said.  "He's an amazing coach.  He's a hall-of-famer.  He's had some of the best defenses.  I'm just trying to do everything I can to learn from him."

Shazier also talked about his agent being on the phone with Cowboys, who had the pick right after the Steelers when they called to tell him they were taking him with the 15th overall selection.
