Steelers Insider Ed Bouchette Receives Prestigious Award

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - Every year since 1969, the Professional Football Writers of America (PFWA) has presented the Dick McCann Award to a reporter who "has made a long and distinguished contribution to pro football through coverage."

This year's winner is Pittsburgh's own Ed Bouchette.

Bouchette has been writing about the Pittsburgh Steelers since 1974 when he covered the team's home games while working for a number of outlets before joining the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in 1983.

On top of writing for the Post-Gazette, Bouchette has also been the Steelers Insider for 93-7 The FAN, joining our shows on a weekly basis throughout the season to offer his invaluable insight on the team.

Bouchette has also authored two books on the Steelers: "The Pittsburgh Steelers" and "Dawn of a New Steel Age: Bill Cowher's Steelers Forge into the '90's."

Bouchette will be honored in Canton during the annual Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival in August.

On behalf of everyone at 93-7 The FAN, we'd like to congratulate Ed on this great achievement which is very well deserved.
