Top 5 Reasons Evgeni Malkin Is Having A Better Summer Than You

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - The Pittsburgh Penguins offseason is in full swing. Not only have they hired a new General Manager in Jim Rutherford, but they're currently in the process of hiring a new head coach.

And although the Los Angeles Kings may have held their Stanley Cup Parade this week, it appears Evgeni Malkin couldn't care less.

Want proof? Just look at his Instagram posts.

We know, summer hasn't officially started yet … but Geno is already killing it in the summer fun department.

Behold, the top 5 reasons Geno is already having a better summer than you.

5. He attended the French Open.

When is the last time you attended a Grand Slam tennis tournament? Not only that, how about the only Grand Slam played on a clay court?

Geno did, and even more, he even got to meet nine-time French Open champion and current No. 1 tennis star in the world Rafael Nadal.

4. He got to meet legendary boxing announcer Michael Buffer.

It's the catchphrase heard round the world: "Let's Get Ready To Rumble" and here's Geno standing right next to the legend! Of course he's representing the 412 in the process.

Did you know Michael Buffer has earned some $400 million from trademarking his catchphrase? That's a lot of money, especially for someone from Philly. (Sorry not sorry Flyers fans.)

3. Fish on!

The shirtless Geno even had time to take in a little deep sea fishing, showing off his catch of these two barracuda.

It's a catch that even Ann Wilson from the rock bad Heart would be proud of. (Yeah, the song is stuck in our heads now too, you're welcome.)

2. I.Am.Score.

Not only did Malkin score Russia's game-winning goal in the World Championship, but then he got to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin.

I mean look at how excited he is. Putin, not so much.

1. He went swimming with the largest fish on the planet!

Don't worry Pens fans, the whale shark is completely harmless, other than being really, really big.

Geno posted the photographic evidence of his adventure Thursday, and it's already gone viral.

Never fear sports fans, Malkin has a few more months to do more really awesome things, and we can't wait to see what he's going to do next… Stay tuned.
