Man Fatally Shot Backstage At Wiz Khalifa Concert In Calif.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) -- A man is dead after police say he was shot multiple times backstage during a concert featuring Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa in California.

Police near San Jose say the shooting happened at a venue called the Shoreline Amphitheatre where Wiz Khalifa, Atlanta hip hop artist Jeezy and others were wrapping up a performance Friday night.

The victim, whose name was not immediately released, died at a hospital Saturday.

Police rushed to the outdoor venue after receiving multiple calls that shots had been fired. However, no arrests have been made and officers were still looking for a male suspect believed to be in his 20s and armed with a handgun.

Investigators asked concertgoers for photos or videos that might provide clues.

"We're not sure how this occurred; we're not sure how the firearm got into the backstage area, but it's definitely going to be part of our ongoing investigation," said Shino Tanaki, of the Mountain View Police Department.

CBS San Francisco reports that police say gun fired during the shooting was described as a black pistol with a large magazine.

Wiz Khalifa canceled his Saturday concert in Chula Vista.

He has another concert scheduled Sunday in Irvine, California.
