PSU Student Gains Fame As "Squirrel Whisperer"

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (KDKA/AP) - A Penn State student is gaining an internet reputation as a "squirrel whisperer" for befriending, feeding and dressing up a furry little friend she has named "Sneezy."

Undergraduate Mary Krupa recently spoke with NPR, saying that by giving the squirrel a peanut, she's able to get close enough to pet her, put hats on her and take picture with her cell phone.

Krupa and Sneezy's exploits are chronicled in a Facebook page titled "Sneezy the Penn State Squirrel," which actually features several different squirrels wearing various costumes, such as a kilt, graduation cap, knight armor, various baseball hats and lots of other tiny and hilarious garb.

So far, the squirrel is proving quite popular as its Facebook page has more "likes" that a page dedicated to the school's official mascot, the Nittany Lion.

In the "about" section for Sneezy, it says she's a girl, located at "an Elm Tree near Old Main." It also says some of Sneezy's personal interests include eating, hiding nuts and wearing hats.
